"Our RSVP volunteers are truly amazing! Some volunteers are spending twenty to sixty hours per month helping our communities. Although, this is not a requirement, it does emphasize the greatness of volunteering. I believe that volunteering can be one of the most gratifying and enjoyable events a person can do. Volunteering is about utilizing your own interests and giving of your time to others or the community. For example,
- If you like animals, you could volunteer at the Humane Society
- If you enjoy politics, you could volunteer by video taping area political meetings
- If you enjoy kids, you could mentor a child or tutor in the schools
- If you like computers, you could help develop a webpage or create posters for agencies
- If you enjoy sports, you could usher at a Wizards basketball game or take tickets at summer baseball tournaments
- If you are interested in helping others, you could make blankets for low-income households, assist at the hospitals, or serve at the soup kitchen.
The opportunities are endless and the RSVP staff is very willing to discuss your interests and keep you engaged! Call 701-258-5436 anytime to discuss volunteering in your area. We are a volunteer family and would love to have one more on board."
